In 1969, Jerry West won the first NBA Finals MVP award. To date, West is the only player to win the award while playing for the losing team. At the time, West had an 0-6 record in the NBA finals, with all losses coming at the hands of the Celtics.

- LeBron James is the youngest NBA player to reach 1,000 career points, 2,000 career points, 3,000, 4,000, and every interval of 1,000 up to 38,000.

- Kevin Love has only made the playoffs five times in his career, but reached the finals each of those five times.

- Until this year, the Golden State Warriors hadn't lost in the playoffs to a Western Conference team since 2014.

- The 2022 Los Angeles Lakers had 6 projected future Hall of Famers (LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo) and still missed the playoffs.

- Bill Russell has the most NBA titles for a single player, with 11. That's more than every franchise in NBA history other than the Lakers and Russell's own Celtics.

- The lowest-seeded team to win an NBA championship were the 1995 Houston Rockets, who beat the 3rd-seed Jazz, 2nd-seed Suns, and 1st-seed Spurs before sweeping the East's 1st-seed Magic in the finals.

Eric Money became the first and only NBA player to score for both teams in a single game. Referee Richie Powers made too many officiating mistakes in the November 1978 game between the 76'ers and the Nets, resulting in the game being suspended and the last quarter of the match being replayed at a later date, by which time Money had been transferred from the Nets to the 76'ers

From that article, Al Skinner was also traded but did not play for either team, making him the only player to have DNPs for two teams in one game.

Kind of like how Danny Jansen played for the Blue Jays and the Red Sox in the same game after it was suspended and he was traded before they resumed a month later
