A big improvement on yesterday for me,, back to 9/10, 8,932
Thought I'd messed up question 1 at first because I didn't read it properly but then I saw the word ink 😂
The one that caught me out was the peloton one though, I know almost nothing about the sport and the only context in which I've heard that word is those home exercise bikes
The various mathematical uses for Greek letters that I once knew have mostly left me and never really felt like more than random symbols anyway.
Sometimes I think I should try harder to learn the Greek alphabet. The thought always passes quickly. There are more productive things to apply my aging brain to.
Most of these people aren't even necessarily that smart seeing as anybody can play trivia on this website, and I wouldn't call being a nerd glorious, either.
There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, and we sat in the Korova Milkbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening.
Did you know that the language Burgess invented in the book was based on Russian? In his dystopian future it is vaguely suggested that ‘nadsat’ is descended from a now-extinct race, suggesting the aftermath of nuclear war. Korova means cow, moloko means milk, droog means friend, gulava means head etc etc. For years I thought they were saying ‘horror show’ when it was supposed to be harasho, which is Russian for good.
Mrnate is right though, Jetpunk comments are some of the funniest I’ve seen anywhere on the web
If anyone needs me, I can be found awkwardly claiming my clothes from the abattoir at 6905 today.
