To a first approximation, it is unequivocally more like a pentagon than a hexagon. If you break the southernmost side to avoid having any part project outside the lines, you should also break a couple other sides which deviate even farther from the lines. They just happen to deviate inward instead of outward which is an arbitrary distinction.
