If it can be found in the English dictionary then it counts regardless of the origin, that's especially true for French given about 30% of our language comes from it. If you want a non-loan word example though then Jazz works. If you spelt it as "Jaz" then it would be pronounced the same, so the second Z is silent.
In retrospect I should have removed Z as an option and added B.
It's not reasonable to ask the user to think of silent Z's as there are so few. And it's not like many people would just know the answer to this question. I didn't.
I thought it was a fun question. Prompted me to google to learn more. Probably doesn't count because it's a proper noun, but my first thought for silent Z was "Czech Republic"
I know no one will see my comment 1.5 years later, but the o isn't really silent in double or trouble, since without it the u would be pronounced long. So it's a combination. However, you're leaving out the most common silent-o word of all...people.
I don't know what sort of mental block I have, but for some reason I always mix up the Jamaican flag with the South African flag. They don't even look all that similar!
9/10 and only 4th place on my own leaderboard on a quiz where over half of the questions were submitted by me, damn. I got that letter question from a Vsauce short and I think it's a really fun question. Like Quizmaster pointed out though, Z was probably too difficult of an option on quiz where you're supposed to go as fast as possible.
Does this mean not enough people are submitting questions, or Goggy submits exceptionally good ones?
But in the future, we will only use 1 question per user per day.

So bad editing on my part.
9/10
Tripped up on the letter question which was genius but evil, I spent ages trying to think of counter-examples without success.
People's scores, like my own, were really put in jeopardy by the rough, tough letter "O". But enough of my own troubles. :)
