Also, is there a lot of approved submissions? Because I got a question approved but it won’t be posted until late August. I don’t mind waiting, but it seems like a lot of questions are getting backed up.
i really hate how there is a pop culture question on almost every single daily trivia. on every. single. one. it would be nice maybe if the days of the week had different themes, so monday more geography questions, sunday more pop culture, etc.
i didnt mean that the weekdays should only have questions of one topic, maybe 2 or 3 more of that topic, i agree that fully themed weakdays would be a bad idea
and how exactly would i improve my pop culture knowledge. by reading about random celebrities just for a 0.0001% chance they would ever come up in the DTC? for geography as an example, at least you can try to improve your knowledge of each country or continent but pop culture is just so structureless
I'm sure you're having a great time on your high horse staying outside of pop culture but honestly, please just deal with it. Pop culture is a very relevant topic and just because it's not as old as geography and trivia doesn't make it any less valid as a question. There's plenty of regular trivia all over JP, and some people really enjoy the pop culture stuff anyways. If you don't like it, don't play. And plus, if we got rid of pop culture questions until Sunday, there'd still be different complaints. There's plenty of people on here who think they're too good for modern facts, please don't add to the number.
Pop culture is very old. I bet there were a few persnickety scholars in Ancient Greece who thought Euripides was unimportant and uncultured compared to their studies.
Same, 9/10, 8876 pts (88% when I took it), and the Taylor Swift question got me. I hate these questions... but I have to admit it's part of the trivia challenge to have a wide range of useful and useless knowledge!
(There's also the problem that most of the pop culture questions are very US-centric which put us non-USians at disadvantage, but I suppose it's up to us to come with different questions to submit, now that it's possible)
Me personally, I struggled a lot more with the Friends question. I've watched like 3 episodes of Friends in my life. Can we just accept that different generations have different pop culture knowledge? I think having questions from different eras of pop culture is good because then it caters to everyone.
Waited almost two weeks for this 10/10 - still not as long as the previous break.
Mostly easy questions, although for Portugal, I had no idea - but the wrong answers were just very easy to exclude. And I don't know any Taylor Swift song, except this one. Didn't remember that line, but it suited to the song's topic.
Nice haha, it was a very good question, I can never quite remember all of the members of that family!
I ruled out the first two so it was between spinach and kale for me but I went the wrong way because for some reason my brain always tells me that kale is seaweed even though I know it isn't hahaha
Jeez. Looking at my friends leaderboard, it seems I’m just really really slow at reading and thinking. They all regularly have over 900 in the speed department, but I have ever only beaten 9900 once. Maybe I should download a speed reading app. 🤷🏻
Just to be sure, ya know?
The pop music questions kill me :/ Are 62% of people here familiar with Taylor Swift's songs, or was it used in a movie or something else?
Look What You Made Me Do is a top 10 Swift song from 2017. I can't remember hearing the title or these lyrics before.
