The question is fine. You could say it's a bit tricky, but I wouldn't call it a "trick question", and I don't see why it "does not work" in the DTC. I didn't know the answer and guessed incorrectly, but I'm not upset about it. I was actually impressed and amused that so many of us were stumped. Kudos to Mikronezya for a fun and challenging question :)
Not really, those islands in the northern Canadian archipelago were part of Norway until very recently, so makes sense why the mountains would be named those names
Fun fact: John Hinckley apparently spent most of his time in prison learning how to play guitar. He has music released on Spotify, which has over 100,000 plays (I assume from morbid curiosity). It’s not good.
8/10 today, didn't know Austria isn't in NATO, but I can't believe I messed up the Zidane one (too early in the morning, I went straight for the guy he headbutted instead 😂)
A couple of these are dealing with some unusually obscure trivia. I mean, trivia is trivia. I'm not going to say it's unfair, but when the suggestion for submitting questions is to submit easy ones....
Another fun fact about Hinkley is that he caused some headaches for some television executives. A program called "The Greatest American Hero" had just started its rather short on network TV. The lead character played by William Katt was named Ralph Hinkley. Not long after the show had its debut, John Hinckley tried to shoot Reagan, so the character's name was changed to Ralph Hanley.
I believe I got the last one as the mountain Asgard was used for the ski jump to parachute scene in the opening of 'The Spy Who Loved Me' James Bond film. Look for the pictures online. Purely amazing.
Wow it seems that Norse one at the end tripped up a lot of people, Canada was the lowest guessed one. Seems some of the people who knew it got it from James Bond
A trick question does not work in the daily trivia challenge, especially about a topic that is not well-known.
Which is the odd one out:
A:football
B:tennis
C:badminton
D:volley ball
My answer-
badminton, right? Doesn't use a ball.
Their answer-
Football.
There are no nets was there reason!
There's 2!
(Who would have thought that a mountain in the arctic of Canada would have the highest uninterrupted drop - it is always a good piece of trivia)
