I would love to see a question that doesn't require deep knowledge in ANY language. There's probably a PhD in semiotics in it for you if you can come up with one.
Unfortunate that a whole category of questions makes you sick, but I feel English-language vocabulary questions are reasonable and valid for inclusion in a low-stakes daily trivia challenge on an English-language quiz site.
I don't think I've ever heard of a bildungsroman, and I'm a writer. All I knew was that "roman" has to do with stories or novels in French, so I guessed it worked in German too.
Shoutout to my daughters for going through their 1D phase in high school ... One of the few good things I got out of it was that I knew this answer. LOL
I’m sorry… I just submit a million questions because I just throw in whatever pops into my brain throughout the day. Although I’ve tried to actively make my questions easier lately because I’ve notice my submissions have been sub-50% all too frequently.
8/10 I'm showing my age by not knowing anyone from One Direction, the other guy who was the right answer, or for that matter any songs or albums by One Direction, or for that matter the other guy.
Plus of course I miss the sports one, even if it's about international relations. Sigh...
9/10 and I cannot believe I got the Taiwan one wrong, but I got a super lucky guess with the Vegas one so probably a fair score all things considered 😅
9/10, can't believe I got the quote wrong. I literally watched yesterday The Simpsons episode where Grandpa Simpson recounts how he discovered a "nazi" had infiltrated America and it flashes back to him listening to JFK giving this speech.
Stupidly clicked asyndeton on the last one even though I knew that was the intentional omission of conjunctions in rhetoric lol. Never heard of bildungsroman or whatever it was
Plus of course I miss the sports one, even if it's about international relations. Sigh...
- Yeah. You know, he's a doughnut.
