Good lord. Got the hardest ones no problem. Picked Mark Antony after half-reading the question. Somehow missed the words ”plot to kill” and thought it was in reference to the triumvirate or something. 🙄

But Mark Antony wasn't part of the triumvirate either
+4
Level 65
Mar 15, 2025
He's referencing the second triumvirate

Level 60

But still, not the triumvirate with Ceasar

It was a meme that was everywhere not long ago. Spread through social media then papers and TV picked it up.

Kinda important in a democracy that you learn from history. One of those cultural things.

Considering it’s the ides of March, most people could guess the theme’s the Roman Empire

7/10. I'm not a man so I don't think about the Roman Empire on a daiy basis:) I would have got 8, but I second guessed myself on the last one.
+6
Level 89
Mar 15, 2025
I don’t feel like I think about the Roman Empire all that often, but I guess getting 10 out of 10 doesn’t really support that conclusion.

I came. I saw. I got 10/10 💪 Only thanks to the time I've spent on this site that I knew Rome peaked at Trajan though 🙏 Kinda disappointed I didn't set a new high score on this theme, but still a very solid 9,924

I loved this one, was trying to think what the theme would be and after a few questions quickly remembered what today was.

10/10

5th best score ever

After an extensive drought I finally got 10/10 again! Equalled my best score, and definitely would've beaten it if I didn't waste so much time looking for the right amphitheater name answer. I'll still take it though!

Before I started I wondered what an Ides of March quiz would look like and now I know. I guess we all think about the Roman empire today.

Fun quiz! Check spelling on Colosseum though :)
+2
Level 80
Mar 15, 2025
I was going to say that. Coliseum is either a generic term or referring to the London Coliseum.

We're Jetpunk nerds! Of course we know way too much about the Roman Empire

Level 65

SO annoyed, normally I know the answers to like half of the questions, guess a few and get 6 or 7. On my only ever 10/10 I guessed on like 3 or 4 questions. Today, for the first time, I knew the answer to all of them, but of course I had to be stupid and think in the 2 seconds it took me to answer this question: Troy was in Turkey, Philadelphia must be British, Byzantium was the name of the empire, I haven't heard of Eboracum, let's try that. Of course the empire was named after its capital, and of course I knew that.

Level 89

In case you were wondering, Eboracum was the Roman name for York. I only know that one from living in the North of England haha

9/10 Helps since I'm halfway through re-listening Mike Duncan's Roman History series. Although distressing because of the seeming parellals to what's happening in the current US administration.

Regarding dysgenics? Papers analyzing genetic trends can be pretty easily found. Hopefully Western civilizations will learn from history

8/10 I'm mad cause my mistakes were on questions I *knew* the answers... but didn't think hard/long enough to get it right (the Empire maximum extension and the Flavian amphitheater)

Revisiting this as I make another installment in the Genius Level General Knowledge Multiple Choice series, and I noticed a spelling error in question #8.

It's Emperor Constantine
