BBC is partly funded by selling the international rights of their shows to foreign broadcasters, those rights wouldn't be worth much if you could just watch BBC abroad anyway.
8/10…but by I did like the points that were made to both Brits (who else in the works pays to watch live tv, not even North Korea) and to the Americans (real football/soccer is the most popular sport to watch globally, not your advertising fest that is the Super Bowl).
I got the FIFA question right easily. But, on the live TV question, I immediately said, well it'snot the UK and guessed from there. almost every time I immediately eliminate one that's the answer, and I ought to remember that next time.
Wasted a lot of time on the first question looking for a word with two Greek roots but there wasn't one. So then the answer had to be television although it's not composed of two Greek roots.
Americans always massively over-estimate how popular the Super Bowl is outside of the US. 17% thinking it's more watched than the World Cup final is insane.
So you can watch DVDs, Netflix, VHS (lol) without a license.
As a result we had the best national broadcaster for 50 years.
We can watch catchup TV over the net at other times, but we can't watch at the same time they are being broadcast,
Germany will also put you in prison if you don't pay the €18 fee every month.
