I think you’ve got a case. I said Glasnost because the policy of openness had a thawing effect. It’s also specifically Russian whereas detente could mean relations between any old countries.
Dopamine gets generated when you get excited like getting 10/10 on the daily quiz and can become addictive. Low levels of seratonin can bring on anxiety and depression so it is prescribed to make you happy and not suicidal.
Sort of. Serotonin itself isn't prescribed. Medication to inhibit the uptake of serotonin, so it stays available for use, thus the drugs are called Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors.
Dopamine is associated primarily with pleasure, motivation, craving and behavioral reinforcement (among other things). That is distinct from happiness and contentment though. At least this is what I know and reckon the question is perfectly valid as it is.
10/10, I'm surprised most people got low scores on this one, it seemed quite easy to me. I never know the celebrity/famous pieces of media questions, but I got lucky on the highest-grossing movie question and guessed it correctly.
8/10. Missed serotonin (dopamine) and Ethiopia (Thailand). Must have been a hard one because I don't think I've ever gone 8/10 and gotten a better than 90% of test takers before.
I was surprised at the low rate of knowing how much paper in a ream. I guess because we're more paperless than we used to be?
8/10 for me today, went straight for dopamine as soon as I saw it, didn't see serotonin until it was too late; and got Goddard wrong because I was fairly sure Wehrner von Braun was the father of rockery. Couple of lucky guesses in there too though, especially the Beethoven one.
Looks like this is a really hard day though cos apparently that's enough for me to top my leaderboard for the moment 😅 I expect that won't last though haha
Nice to have a quiz when you know all the answers except one mainly because of life experiences (piano lessons, living through the Cold War, buying printer paper, travels, etc.) + no pop culture stuff. Only had to make an educated guess on one question and that wasn't even that hard....plutonium is a middle of the road element, not low, not high, in the middle. I didn't get my dopamine hit, just a satisfied juice of seratonim.
(But yeah, the "Cannon in D" and "United Stations" typos should be fixed)
Went 50-50 on the Beethoven one, picked Moonlight over Ode to Joy 😖

Dopamine is "woop woop" but serotonin is reading a book you like.
Hilarious to make 'Chris' one the options for the bear.
