The Elephant's Foot (Ukrainian: Слонова нога, romanized: Slonova noga) is the nickname given to the large mass of corium beneath Reactor 4 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near Pripyat, Ukraine. The mass formed during the Chernobyl disaster of 26 April 1986 from such materials as molten concrete, sand, steel, uranium, and zirconium. It is named for its wrinkled appearance and large size, evocative of the foot of an elephant.
Hurrah, 9/10. Didn't know I knew that much about elephants. Missed the elephant's foot and was lucky with the heart of darkness, but the rest I knew or could make educated guesses on.
Currently top of my leaderboard but expect to be knocked off soon...
Nice solid 10/10, at 9,911. Only one that slowed me down today was the valid facts question, I took my time carefully reading the options only to see that if I'd started at the bottom I could've saved some time XD
9/10 too, missed the elephant's foot...for Q7 anyone remember the 'Pink Elephants on Parade' scene/song in the original Dumbo movie? I saw that in the theatre as a kid, scared me silly, just watched it again on Youtube, still scary! (Anybody notice I made level 63 this morning😊)
There was a strange public backlash since Dumbo learned to fly during the hallucination scene. It implied that his creative potential was released due to the use of drug/alcohol.
I knew that from the Simpsons. Homer dresses up like Ganesha to try to stop Apu's arranged Hindu wedding. Apu also keeps a statue of Ganesha at the Kwik-E-Mart. ...I am realizing that like 80% of my knowledge of world cultures and high art comes from Simpsons reference.
Seeing pink elephants is usually associated with withdrawing from alcohol, rather than being drunk. Alcohol doesn't typically cause hallucinations even at high doses, but hallucinations are a common withdrawal symptom in delirium tremens.
