I can’t believe I missed the Pope John question. I just made a stupid joke about the miscounting of Pope Johns on the interesting facts page. Oh well… back to 9/10.
Managed the 10/10 today, but was fairly slow (9,878) and I don't expect to hold onto top spot on my LB for long. The Mediterranean climate one in particular cost me a bunch of time, because I wouldn't have thought *any* of those cities had one 😅 Had to try and figure which was the "odd one out", and got lucky haha
Well 10/10 but even slower than you were, cause you're still #1 on my leaderboard and I come second. Took me way too much time to analyse some of the questions. And same for HK, I didn't know that the others were considered to be Mediterranean but I knew that HK would be probably more tropical weather.
The slimmest of margins 😅 My prediction did turn out to be correct though, I've been dethroned by MrL, but I was honestly expecting to be bumped much further down, seems I'm not the only one who found these ones tricky haha
He was Pope John XXIII, but you'll note there's no John XVI or John XX. The former is an antipope who was, at the time, considered to have been the real Pope. The latter doesn't exist because John XXI skipped 20. Check out the Wikipedia page for "Pope John numbering."
7/10. I thought both the NIle and the Amazon went north to south so guessed wrong. Mario was originally in Donkey Kong which was an Atari game, so I said Mario. And I misread San Diego as San Francisco. I hope the rest of my day goes better.
If you read The Crown of Ptolemy by Rick Riordan, they mention that. Although you should read Percy Jackson and the Olympians & Kane Chronicles before you read that and the other stories in that "trilogy".
The cheese-rolling happens in the county of Gloucestershire, but not in Gloucester, which is a city. It happens on a hill in the countryside called Cooper's Hill, near the villages of Great Witcombe and Cranham. These are admittedly not far from the city, but no one local would describe the location as being in Gloucester.
MY 2ND 10/10 EVER!!!!! Personally, I don't think of Vincent Van Gogh as a failure of an artist, because he is one of the most famous artists of all time, but I understand what they meant by the question.
never do the DTC right after you get up
i only got 6, but with longer and better thinking, i could have easily gotten 1, 7, 8 and maybe 10
Just a note: there were 23 Pope John, the last one was Pope Roncalli until 1963
The Nile is weird that way:)

hope you start a 10/10 streak
I'm crossing my fingers that I didn't jinx you
Good luck on getting that again
I hope I didn't just jinx you
The Crown of Ptolemy:)
