Dropped the ball on question 1, don't know why I thought brain was a good answer, I guess I was thinking it was one of those where it's just a bunch of nerve cells that don't technically constitute a brain 😅 Annoyingly, I breezed the rest, so 9/10, always a pain missing the first one haha
ants are very small (in case you hadn't noticed) so their surface area to volume ratio is much higher than bigger animals so they don't need to move as much air over the diffusion surface to get enough oxygen. They have spiracles along the sides of their bodies which allow them to extract oxygen from air.
Also, if you think about it for a moment you'll see that anything with an exoskeleton can't expand its chest to draw air into the lungs so will have to find another way to get oxygen.
You know, I'd absolutely LOVE some multiplayer mode, either for teams or for head-to-head quizzes. It's the only thing that Kahoot has over on us at the moment.
I was very surprised at how low that one was, only 58% knew or guessed correctly (so more like 40) and that in a place where English (I think) is the first language for most people (99% of all users are Americans they would have us think, if you read some of the comments.. )
But not just English, all Germanic language have similar words (I just remembered, in German it is Mittwoch), and in Romance languages there is the equivalent, named after the god Mercury. And if you are from a different language group all together, surely you would know it is at least a god even if you weren't sure which.
But perhaps this is some knowledge bias.. but still.. it is not about movies you may or may not have seen, it is about days! everyone has days! Ok rant over :D
7/10. First question killed me. They have to breathe, right? They also have to eat, but I said stomach. I always get Fleming and Salk mixed up. And, not knowing what a torus was, didn't know what was shaped like it. Went for pretzel.
I did horribly, 7/10, and must still be asleep first thing this morning. Even on some I got right I did poorly--I saw the word "Iron" and was looking all over for Margaret Thatcher! That famous German chancellor. Sheesh.
I hit 9/10 today missing only the torus one, never heard of that term. Had long pause on English highwayman and ant body parts so made lucky guesses on those. All others were instant answers. Not sure I see a theme
Seeing nobody on my Friends Leaderboard with a 10 is always good motivation to slow down and think each question over a bunch, haha. First 10/10 in a while!
Why? Can’t some of us Americans have an interest in insects and OPEC, watched cooking shows, PBS shows about polio and Disney shows about highwaymen, studied Norse mythology and 19th century European history, had a dalmatian, and worked as a mathematician?
Also, if you think about it for a moment you'll see that anything with an exoskeleton can't expand its chest to draw air into the lungs so will have to find another way to get oxygen.
But seriously, thanks for the good explanation.
Probably expensive/difficult to operate though
Then nearly every question forced me to slow down and think it through, and I still missed the donut. Tough one today!

I don't know why and I regret it.
