Just need to have watched the tear-jerk movie 'The Pride of the Yankees' with Gary Cooper. In my era of lower education in the 60s, we frequently were 'educated' with Hollywood 'historical' movies. Disney quasi-documentaries extolling the likes of Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett. Sergeant York, a Kentuckian Hero. etc.
I actually knew one, the year of independence, I had informed guesses on 6, took the "A" option for the NASCAR driver and got the oldest city and the farewell speech wrong. 8/10 who'd have thought.
Your "slow" score is exactly what my fastest score is. *weeps* I don't know how you guys can be so fast..touchscreen perhaps? and having English as your first language helps I guess, but still..
(I know it is likely my concentration issue, I flash back and forward a lot, reading the words in a sentence the order they are written in hardly ever happens. Sometimes it makes me faster if I land on the key words, but other times it is like reading the sentence 3 times..) Even so, some people here are like lightning
9/10 with TWO sports questions. It's a miracle I actually knew the Lou Gehrig quote, but I've never heard of any racecar driver by name. Oh well--enjoy your independence, Americans!
Tony Stewart never raced F1 (I believe you're thinking of Jackie Stewart), he raced Indycar for a couple years and then NASCAR for most of his career. I'd also say Earnhardt specifically at least somewhat relevant globally now
Though you’d never know it by this quiz, women do actually live in the US and on occasion contribute things to history! But go ahead with NASCAR…jeez. Well we are barely recognizable these days anyway. Sad days to be ‘murcan
4/10 argh must be my worst score ever. Started out with 2 fast correct ones, so felt good, but went downhill fast. (I feel like I should know nr 3 though)
Edit I just checked, it is the only time I got a 4 :( That low peak looks so sad in the graph
(or it could be sadness for what our country used to be)
A NASCAR question! Yeehaw!
8/10 for a non-American
(Always mix Yellowstone and Yosemite...)
Pretty slow score at 9,865, was flying at first but the second half really slowed me down, and I almost got baited by Guam and Ayrton Senna

but the english lessons at school actually helped me out on Q3
The Nascar quiz is a bit centric tho (not saying that it bad)
