whupped by this one! 6/10....but I did take @interopia Type of Chili by Picture quiz...I thought a scotch bonnet and habenaro were the same pepper, fool that I am...🙄
I did very badly. I clicked Kurosawa mindlessly even though I knew he was the 1950s director of several classics, but the brain only works so fast in this high pressure speed economy that is DTC.
Me too....Doing badly is just a push to go learn something....when I was younger, I read a lot of Japanese authors that commited suicide (Mishima, Kazai, Kaneko, etc). I guess now I have to get into Japanese animation....I do like South Korean movies!
South Korean is similar in some senses. Many popular ones focus a lot on social and economic classes. I'd say Kurosawa and Miyazaki focus more on abstract/philosophical ideas in their films. Both have made some all-time classics, though.
9/10 completely guess (right) the director but failed at the last hurdle Maximus was the only one I'd heard of so chose that, but afterwards kicked myself as he wasn't an emperor and it is probably fiction anyway.
7/10. All 3 that I got wrong, I narrowed it down to 2 and picked the wrong one. AARGH!
Plus, after the dry ice question, I became obsessed with dehydrated water. (I didn't miss that one). Wouldn't that just be nothing? Or is it some kind of black hole creating thing?
I find it funny that many people guessed Maximus because of Gladiator when Commodus was the actual Roman emperor that movie. I suppose Maximus is more memorable because he was the main character.
9/10 for me today, albeit a pretty fast one. Had some lucky semi-educated guesses on pumice and Miyazaki, but it was the Nutella that got me. In hindsight the name does seem like it's derived from a Romance language, but it just never struck me as an Italian product, and with Belgium being an option too I went with the country known for chocolate 😅
Also, somewhat surprised by how few got Commodus right, has it really been so long since Gladiator? (I know, I'm getting old, don't remind me 😂)
The one that threw me was number 5. I knew the answer of course, but I was confused because the question specified the UK. I thought this practice would be common to most or possibly all countries that went through WWI.
lwk crazy theres not been a ghibli quiz featured yet
Currently top of my LB.

That a thought from me, you can think it at whatever you want it to be
