I also missed abstract expressionism and I was so annoyed because I ALMOST picked it. But never mind. Got the brain one because during Covid I took a neurobiology course online - highly recommend btw!
When I saw Dimby's 10/10 I got excited because I usually score right along with him. Easy pickings through Q7 then went over the cliff on the next 3.......well done, Dimby!
yea the first part went great for me, then it went downlhill at the end. But it got very noisy here at that time, I almost waited until it would be quiet again but decided against it. It would not have changed my knowledge but would have made more thought through guesses.
I knew #10 immediately because I remember from a loooong time ago in abnormal psychology in uni we watched a video with a person whose corpus callosum was badly injured in a car accident. When asked to identify items’ names by only touching them, they couldn’t do it. It was very memorable, albeit very sad, too.
Question 4 should say “eating ENOUGH carbohydrates” prevents ketosis.
It’s disordered-eating-diet-culture-BS to describe eating sufficient carbohydrates as too much - as though everyone does, or should, want to be in ketosis.
The usage there is to say that you can technically eat *some* carbs and reach ketosis, but if you eat more than a certain amount you can't. While I agree with your sentiment about keto diets, I think this wording is less confusing for the question.
8/10 for me today, some very difficult questions. Not the first time I've lost a point to Zoroastrianism, narrowed that one down to a 50/50 but went for Bahaism, which I also know nothing about. Got the brain one wrong too on another 50/50 (brain science is definitely my least comfortable aspect of biology). Could've been worse though, because I was also only half confident on Yom Kippur, and even less so on Pectin 😂
I was cruising through, kind of an educated guess on Zoroastrianism, but got tripped up on the brain. I miss Q10 a ton. I immediately thought of Jackson Pollock, that made Q7 a pretty easy educated guess.
On the brain question I got it down to two and said I bet it's this one then picked the other one anyway and got it wrong. Why would I do that?? 8/10 sigh...

Drunk quizzing 10’s are more satisfying than drunk quizzing 6’s and 7’s, I’ll tell ya that much.
Nice eclectic quiz QM.
It was awfully generous leaving off Hanukkah, since I think many think it’s most important because it’s the same time of year as Christmas.
(Explanation: It lasts 8 days, so it will necessarily contain a Shabbat, which is far more important.)
