Strictly speaking, Salzburg was not part of Austria when Mozart was born there in 1756 or at any time during his life. It was an independent archbishopric until 1803, when Napoleon dissolved it and handed it over to the Duchy of Tuscany. Austria absorbed it in 1805, only to lose it to Bavaria in 1809, then recover it in 1806.
All of which is beside the point, of course, since Salzburg has been part of Austria since then. But it reminds us what a crazy quilt Europe was for centuries, when countries such as present-day Germany did not exist in any form and Austria had far different boundaries than those drawn up after the end of WWI..
Nooo, I was on track for a new high score but guessed the wrong way between auction and testing on question 10 😩 Think this must be my fastest ever 9/10 though. Have to credit having recently watched Mad Men for knowing the Madison Avenue one.
Pretty smooth 10/10. It's kinda comforting when, even if you're not completely sure of the answer, you have a pretty darn good idea that it's right and it turns out that way. Didn't race through it and with the power of elimination was able to manage a pretty decent score.
Happy Indian Independence Day!!

As usual, I'm so slow so the last of 5 on my leaderboard with 8/10.
"Oi!! stop chucking your dirty rocks on my lawn! - Have it back!!"
As many times as my 11 year old son has "rickrolled" me, that one was easy.
