Argh. The poet option for Tamerlane messed me up. I remembered something about Tamerlane from an English class I did a couple decades ago. Looking it up now, it turns out that I read a poem about the conqueror and his peasant love named Ada.
10/10 but Q1 was unusually tricky, and the temple one took some working out. I'd love to see an attempt to fit 20,000 cows in a temple 😂 9,889, not too shabby for a very late night
I've been in the temple, the rats are black and quite small. It's supposed to be four white rats among them, and seeing one of those will bring you luck.
Wanted to click "China" on Q3, but thought, how can it be middle when it's all in the east. Well... less thinking, more listening to gut feeling next time...
Certainly can't say I was cruising through the first 8, tough for me today. Managed to get them but missed the final 2. So yeah, I'll happily take 8/10.
9/10. I found the final question easy though the terminology has changed during my lifetime (I'm ancient). Vaccinia was the name for the cowpox virus which protected against smallpox and vaccination became the term specifically for that immunisation. Immunisation was/is the more generic term for agents used to prevent infective diseases. But gradually "vaccination" became the term for any immunisation. And vacca is the Latin for cow. Simple.
Why do I subject myself to these quizzes? I hardly ever feel good after taking them. Yet, every day I entertain the idea of getting a good score. Like I am going to become smart all of a sudden and start getting 10/10s all the time. I probably need to read more. Or pay attention to the world more. Maybe its been so long since ive been in school and I have forgotten a lot of information. Or I'm just simply not very smart. Still, I hold onto hope that tomorrow will be the day that I turn it all around and start getting 10/10s. Maybe I'm too old though. Maybe I denied myself a lifetime of knowledge I could have had if I paid more attention in class, studied more, read more. Or maybe my brain has a limit to how much knowledge it can take in, and that limit was reached years ago. Tomorrow's another day, another quiz. Another chance to prove to myself that I'm not so dumb. Is it torture? Kind of, yeah. But it's also fun. I look forward to the quiz every day. Ok, it's really not that serious.
Umm I should have think more the last one as vaca is cow in spanish as tizzlizz said, so if it was vaccinus I read it like vac cinus but could have gone for vakinus that would have more sense as a cow thing
ISuckAtLife, don’t be disheartened at the quizzes! I always seem to go into the quizzes hopeful and I usually end up slightly disappointed with myself, but I learn soooo much from them and occasionally I come away happy! Here’s to you having happier times! Good luck!
I didn't stay long enough to find one...
