Ikr. I just studied Swan recently so I knew the right answer but was surprised to see so few knew about him. Sad, really. Tesla has become a huge celebrity recently and has been memed into a much sexier, more intelligent, cooler rival to Edison who made better versions of all Edison's inventions and/or invented them first. The meme isn't even remotely accurate. While it's true they were rivals when it came to their systems of electrical current (AC vs DC), and that Tesla was a brilliant inventor whose contributions were largely forgotten till recently, Tesla never developed a lightbulb and the two didn't even intersect in any other invention. The sexy-Tesla meme is almost certainly the reason for all the wrong guesses.

I figured it wasn't Bell or Santos-Dumont since they are associated with other inventions. I was tempted to pick Tesla but that seemed like it might be a trick, so I went with Swan. Glad I trusted my gut on this one!
