Some things you can improve by reading, doing quizzes, learning things (like flags or capitals for example), others will be trickier.
Everything related to contemporary music or to very US-specific culture (I mean by that aspects of their culture that are not known outside of the US, or English-speaking countries) are lost on me.
That's okay, nobody can know everything there's to know. Find the things you find more enjoyable to learn about :)
Yeah as FurQ said look things up. If there's something you run across and you'd like to know more spend like 5-10 minutes reading the wikipedia page (or more if you end up following a few links lol). Also for geography stuff specifically do the same thing except go on google maps and look at the satellite imagery a bit.
Yeah, whenever I miss something on the daily quiz I google it to at least get an idea what it is.
Another thing, which works better on some quiz types (like geography) than others, is that I often just start a quiz, immediately click on "give up," then study the answers. Then you can take it over and over as you gradually learn the states of Mexico or kings and queens of England or whatever it is.
The 'General Knowledge' series is a good place to start. You can also find quizzes that you think are in your knowledge 'sweet' spot and then see how 'sweet' it really is. Find quiz topics that you don't know deeply and learn more. And take the fun ones...there are quizmakers that put out very imaginative ones like 'Things Being Draw' series by @overtired.....
10/10 but only thanks to the fact I learned what Magic: The Gathering is just last Saturday, otherwise I'd have had no clue. Talk about luck--or was it magic...?
Pretty mad today. I would have gotten 10/10 and one of my best scores ever if I read the full Charles Dickens clue and didn't impulsively click the first answer with David in it *sigh*
9/10 if I didn't second guess myself on the Magic Johnson question I would've gotten my first perfect in a very long while. Still very happy with how I did, all things considered!

Also missed the card game and Arthur C Clarke.
