It’s from I Love Lucy - a show from the 50s. I’ve never actually seen the show but I’ve seen that clip a few times in various places - I’m from NZ and not old enough for the show - so I feel like it’s an iconic scene that has travelled through space and time!
You guys are so funny.....Rosie the Riveter was a poster created by the US Department of Defense in WWII in the 40s to encourage women to work in the factories to support the war since men were off to be soldiers. Of course, when the men came back women were encouraged to go back home & have babies = the baby boom. The disenchanted women became feminists in the 60s..and the story goes on.
I'm assuming she's Lucille Ball's character from I Love Lucy, but having never seen a single episode, I got that one wrong. It seemed like very Homer Simpson behaviour 😂
9/10....JP got hit on the big Cloudflare outage today. I was stupid on Q7, I started with Venice, then thought 'Arsenal' isn't that a UK football team? Not in 1104 AD you idiot....arsenal = weapons. On the other hand, I made a correct 50/50 guess on Q9. Don't like chocolate anyway.
Another 8/10 for me today; messed up the cocoa plant, which I probably should've known, and had absolutely no idea on Q10, but at least I went with the majority there. I am definitely not well-versed in my 1950s sitcoms 😂
I doubt you've watched Princess Bride yet which is a movie....but this scene will only take 3 minutes & I expect a comment back! (I wonder what the age demographics are of JP-ers? Based on comments, seems like they are all under 40)
Shout out to you @pyramid18...the 50s with the TV initial shows were 'sanitized', idealized white families, censored by US Congress Communist witch hunters, still segregation, etc. Some of the shows tried to have break-out episodes in small ways. If you watch the series in that context, Lucille Ball became a Hollywood powerhouse for women. It was a formative decade, fomenting the 60s & 70s. If you watch the various shows of that time in historical context you'll see how the evolving cultural dissent was reflected....And now I'll stop....😊
yeah, coupled with the October outages & security breach, their stock is tanking. Looks like the IT kids ain't up to the big-time. Time to buy on the dip?
Had no idea they made so much, just learned that they're behind Tic Tacs and Kinder Suprise as well.
9/10
It's hilarious, too.
But they were talking about the last question, about I Love Lucy.
Knew that Q10 wasn't 2 of the answers and guessed wrong on the two remaining options.
