Yeah, getting only the first one wrong is irritating, getting only a early middle one is boring, getting only a late middle (6-8) is horrifying and usually breaks my concentration over the last few questions, and getting only the last one wrong... at least I have something to complain about
You can submit your own questions. Also, if you look at your results and look at the bottom of the questions, some will be credited to a user, who had their question chosen. And this person did get theirs chosen for today.
8/10, nice questions but using the term "weighs in" in the last question and then having an incorrect answer containing the word "Gravity" was mean and sneaky quizmaster.
Wow, what a super coincidence! Infinite Jest was mentioned in the book I just read, The Sirens' Call by Chris Hayes. It is a phenomenal read. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who interacts with the information super highway.
10/10, 9,903. Was flying on the early questions but took a while to think about the Washington DC one. Nearly went for China before I realised that a straight line would always take you out somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere.
I knew a handful of people survived Magellan's voyage, but I thought it said 180 not 18 so I chose 1 and I think that's much worse than not knowing the answer in the first place.
I think I personally got confused because I know Magellan had a Filipino slave who became the first person to circumnavigate the globe (since he only needed to reach the Philippines and not Spain). So I took that to mean only 1 person from that expedition circumnavigated the globe which in hindsight is faulty reasoning :P
at least I have something to complain aboutThanks Quizmaster!
Maybe it's my lucky day.
I'm off to buy a lottery ticket
In the drunk tank
An old man said to me
"Won't see another one"
And then he sang a song
"The Rare Old Mountain Dew"
I turned my face away
And dreamed about you
Got on a lucky one
Came in eighteen-to-one
I've got a feeling
This year's for me and you
So happy Christmas
I love you, baby
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true
