I also guessed between Spassky and Karelin after eliminating the other two, but luckily I picked the right one. Had no idea about the final question but got it with a lucky guess as well.
I always enjoy that last bit of trivia, because it means we can summarise the difference between the Arctic and Antarctic as "Bears here" and "No bears here" ๐
So PietjePuk's and vermiciouskind's 50/50 was between Karelin and Spassky (a former chess world champion), tizzlizz's 50/50 was between Karelin and Zhukov (a Soviet WW2 general) and mine was between Karelin and Sikorsky (an aviation pioneer)
9/10 because someone snuck a sports question into a quiz about bears. But I love Bob's Burgers so two weeks ago I made the Paddington Gruyere Burger for the centennial of author Michael Bond, and in October I'm going to make the Hundred Okra Wood Burger for the centennial of Winnie-the-Pooh. Kind of made those two questions easy!
9/10. Knew Karelin - one of the greatest athletes of all time and one of my childhood idols! In Finland he's known as "Siperian karhu" (The Bear from Siberia)
But did not remember the last one. Have heard it before, but could not recall and guessed incorrectly.
Although feeling a trifle stupid having only scored 6/10, I console myself with the thought that 20% of people thought that Boris Spassky was a Greco-Roman wrestler.
Unbearable!
Spassky: chess grandmaster
Sikorsky: aviation pioneer, invented helicopter
Zhukov: high-ranking military officer of WWII era
Russian wrestler was a process of elimination, and I dropped a bit of time on gummy bears thinking it might be a trap, but no major issues today
IFKYK
