yes we had gone without a phone for thousands of years and by sheer 'coincidence' 2 patents for the phone wnt into the same patent office on the same day= Bells came out on top in court, always found that strange.

isn't Edison famous for having a few suspiciously 'timed' patents as well.

kind of like the computer hacking of the day :)

Had to think hard about the first one as Clark does use a revolving door to change into Superman in the first Superman film.

But then I remembered he checks for a phone booth first and can only find one that isn't enclosed, so I guessed that was the traditional method.

Exactly. He does use a revolving door in the first film. Phone booths were already on the way out. I don't think my kids have ever seen one except in old movies.
