Wow. Total common knowledge gap for me. I thought Secretariat was from like… the Great Depression era. Who knew people cared about horse racing in the 1970s?
When I was in college (70s) worked at Santa Anita Racetrack for Buster Millerick, he was old at the time, but in his mid-20s he trained Seabiscuit for about 6 months...his 'glory' days, loved his stories. Well, actually Toby McGuire played the jockey, not the horse☺️
With my 8/10 I'm 16th out of 20 on my leaderboard with at least another 15 people who didn't submit. I guess it's only the people who consistently do well, that continue to play.
10/10. I love horses. Went to horse camp when I was a kid. My parents would not get me a horse no matter how much I begged. It was really their only fault as parents.
Same here because they couldn't afford it but I got jobs in middle/high school at local stables & TB breeding farms, which taught me to ride really well, which got me jobs at racetracks while in college (SoCal), which got me jobs at stud farms in UK. Owned horses now for over 40 years. Getting down to my final days, but I still ride like hell with my current girl - and if it doesn't rain,we'll be riding today😊
10/10 and I'm trying to hold on to my past. It's been so long I don't think I'm going to last. I guess I'm just trying to make you understand that I'm more a man than a horse. Or I'm more a horse than a man.
I thought American "Pharoah" was misspelled, but that's actually the horse's name! There was a misspelling in his official name registration application. Easy mistake to make; keyboards are not designed for hoofed users.
OMG, that was SO much fun! QM Thank you, thank you, I'm practically giddy! I've worked with horses since the late 60s, US & UK breeding farms, US & French race tracks...every Q brought back a memory....maybe I'll make a horse breed traits quiz😆
No idea about US racehorses.
Thanks to Bojack Horseman for #7.
Yes, that’s its real and full name
Why? - it was supposed to be Potato but the register misheard as Pot(8)o
and a bojack question was missing imo
