My drought continues, even trickier today, managed 8/10 and it could have been worse. I had no idea whatsoever about the nopales or the plaza, and only got the cartel boss because it came up in a crossword last week 😅
For nopales, I had a lucky guess, but no idea about the plaza or cartel leader. None of the names sounded familiar, but I excluded El Capitan, because it's the name of a rock. :-)
8/10 today. I didn’t know the population of Mexico or word for edible cactus. El Capitan is a cliff face in Yosemite National Park. I learned about El Cid in Spanish language class and about El Greco in History of Art class. El Mencho was the only remaining name for a cartel leader.
10/10 after some really bad scores lately. But I try to get to el Zocalo every other year, and Mexico's my favorite country there is! Mas Mexico por favor.
I thought 60% is quite low... especially since there is a major overrepresentation of Americans here. And it's also useful to know the difference between now and know.
7/10 is usually good for me but today I'm low-key disappointed in myself based on the topic at hand. Doesn't help that I quite literally just came from a protest.
10/10! I've been to Mexico a few times and speak Spanish, so this was relatively easy today. I'm actually having a really great day, so this was a cherry on top!
I love JetPunk quizzes and I've been playing them for the past 6-7 years... I'm a big fan of themed quizzes and I really enjoy the daily challenges.
My only complaint is the excessive focus on American culture (I'm speaking from the perspective of a European resident — more precisely, from the Balkan Peninsula). For the same reason, I’d also like to point out the heavy focus on English/British culture, simply because there are other royal families that are just as rich, important, and fascinating — for example, the Nemanjić dynasty, which is every bit as extensive, significant, and beautiful as the English royal dynasties.
Honestly, I would be really happy if you paid more attention to us citizens of the "forgotten countries" (the Non-Aligned ones) and tried to put yourselves in our shoes. We have our own issues and our own culture too.
Anyone can make quizzes for this site, if you'd like to see them you're free to make them and I'd be happy to play them. It's not other people's responsibility to champion your culture.
Further, the notion that the 'significance' of any other extant royal family is greater than that of the UK/Commonwealth is laughable. Things can matter without having to be compared in such a manner.
Always mixing Acapulco and Cancun...
It was going so well until the last four questions.
I am mexican so it was really easy haha
I think this was my best score this year.

Thank you and respect to the JetPunk team!
