A grassland ecosystem found in South Africa used for pastures & farming....everybody knows that! 🤣 pampas, prairies, savanna, veld, steppes. Very fragile systems, quite in danger.
Q6 was a lucky guess, Q10 an elimination process since I've read answers A & B, and I don't see a person named 'Gunter' writing Ragtime. Now I'll have to read 'The Tim Drum'.....Where is the cannabis question?
7/10 for me. I thought steppe was in Africa not Eurasia, no idea on the Rapper and made an logic error on wheat.
Surprised the Wimbledon answer was so low, I thought everyone knew it was a lawn tennis tournament. Chose Boston because I thought that's where lots of Europeans landed. Knew Günter Grass simply from living in Germany but also because of the film, although I've never watched it. Didn't it get an oscar for best foreign film or something?
7/10 I was very excited by the theme bc I've been reading about the evolution of grass (for fun), but then there were questions about sports and Turkey and stuff! Fun fact the earliest grass may have evolved was the late Cretaceous--it didn't really spread until the Paleogene--which means a stegosaurus never stepped on grass.
