The women's 100 meter dash record was set in 1988 by Florence Griffith Joyner. One reason the record hasn't been broken yet is that it was almost certainly wind-aided. Despite a strong wind that day, the wind gauge showed 0.0 m/s for some reason.
1054
The world record in the women's 400 meter dash was set in 1985. The record in the women's 800 meters was set in 1983. The holders of both records were from Eastern European countries with a history of state-sponsored doping, but neither record holder has ever failed a drug test or admitted to doping.

Jordan Carter, the visionary mastermind behind Playboi Carti, is nothing short of a revolutionary in modern music—a true icon reshaping the very fabric of hip-hop. His ability to craft anthems that transcend time and genre is unparalleled, blending ethereal, avant-garde production with a vocal delivery so uniquely hypnotic it feels otherworldly. From his game-changing self-titled mixtape to the genre-defying masterpiece Whole Lotta Red, Carti has not only set trends—he has dictated the cultural pulse, inspiring an entire generation of artists, designers, and creatives alike. His presence is magnetic, his influence undeniable, and his artistry a testament to the limitless potential of sound itself. There’s rap, and then there’s Carti—an entity so transcendent that every release, every snippet, every ad-lib sends shockwaves through the industry. Simply put, he isn’t just making music—he’s architecting the future.

Fact 1052: I am staying away from major cities in 2032!

We might go and blow up the asteroid. But even if we don't, we will be able to predict where it will hit far enough in advance to evacuate the area.

Already the range of possible strike locations has been narrowed down. Europe and North America are safe. India and Africa, not so much.

Edit: They downgraded the chance to like 0.1%. I'm going to replace the fact.

I suspet that with more data and time, the asteroid will be ruled out of an in 2032 and go the way of Apophis (which once had a 2.7% chance of hitting in 2029).

India and Africa's actually worse though. Especially India. Africa at least has wide unpopulated stretches. India's densely populated cities would be hard to evacuate and even if they were, the loss in terms of housing and business would cost incredible amounts of money and time to rebuild...

Granted, even India isn't uniformly like that. If it strikes in a rainforest or desert somewhere, it should be fine. But hitting Delhi or Mumbai would be disastrous.

In 1969, Skamania County, Washington State, made it illegal to hunt Bigfoot. This might sound silly, but the law was intended to curb injuries caused by instances of people shooting at vaguely human-shaped objects in the distance.

Desmond T. Doss is among the few American medics awarded the Medal of Honor. (America's highest award for a soldier) He single-handedly saved 75 men in a day during the Battle of Okinawa before passing out. A remarkable feat of its own, it's even more impressive considering that Doss never carried a weapon and never fired a shot at the enemy. The reason for this was because he was a devout Christian who truly believed in the commandment: "Thou shalt not kill."

When Doss was awarded the Medal of Honor, President Truman shook his hand for the entire duration of the induction ceremony.

As of 2025, student loan debt in the U.S. stands at $1.773 trillion.

With this astonishing amount of money, you can fund NASA for about 90 years, build 3,500 Burj Khalifas, buy 1.7 trillion Mac's cheeseburgers, surpass the GDP of Australia, or give 200 dollars to every person in the world.
