the thing is that cuomo is just so objectively bad and zohran has sensible ideas that appeal to most people. all cuomo’s campaign is doing is backing the “he’s a hardliner lunatic communist” narrative which just doesn’t have as much of an impact when someone hears what zohran’s policies are. yeah, someone might call it “far-left communism”, but stuff like free childcare and cheaper essential grocery items at some city-run grocery stores is just going to appeal to many people because it’s beneficial to them. and it isn’t communist and neither is zohran
