Any intention on adding another language to JetPunk?

Submitted by paperdiego on May 24, 2025
What is the criterion for which languages are added to the site? Is it related to the amount of users that are from the language's country? If so why not include hindi and russian, which are the languages of countries with more users than Finland? I get not everyone in India speaks hindi, but almost all russians speak russian.

We make 90% of our revenue from English language content.

But Russian and Hindi are particularly bad for us. We aren't allowed to monetize Russian users ever since 2022. And Indian traffic makes so little it might as well be zero.

This means we actually lose money on traffic from Russia and India! So not a great business strategy to try to get more of it.

If anything, Japanese or Turkish would be next I believe, but both are a long shot

No language will even be close to getting featured for a very long time unfortunately.

On one hand Turkish has a lot of takers, but too few quizmakers, which can be implied by them having only 2 pages(for reference greek now has 4, while it has much less takers)

On the other hand, Japanese and Chinese have many quizzes, numbering 13 and 20 pages each, but still very disproportionate takes with their cotw at 30-40k, which again is very disencouraging and shows the lack of takers

Only russian would(in a world without sanctions) have a chance of getting featured with a cotw of 700k takes and a good 7 pages, which would greatly be expanded in a case of getting featured.

Hmm... Why do you not want Turkish to be featured, Gademotsili?
