I'm a few hours south of the Methye Portage, which was a key link in the Canadian fur trade, connecting the Arctic and Hudson Bay watershed.

I live in a town that has been inhabited since before the Roman occupation of the UK. It has been destroyed by fire in medieval times, and was the site of a major battle in the English Civil War between the cavaliers and the roundheads. There are many Tudor period buildings, the oldest surviving building having been built in 1577 and is still in use!
