Difficulty Modes?

Submitted by Trompete79 on November 18, 2025
I just had an idea and I'm not sure if it's a good one, but I'll tell you anyway.

What if quizzes had different modes with different difficulties? Because I see a lot people making several different versions of the same quiz, just giving more time or adding extra hints.

The quiztaker could select if they want to play on easy or hard mode and the quizmaker wouldn't need to make another quiz.

Of course, this might be too complicated and wouldn't really fit into the points system.

Anyways, I would love to hear your thoughts about this in the comments!

I actually quite like this idea. Not saying that it'll be implemented, but the idea is cool. There could be the regular "Normal" mode, with "Easy" and "Challenging" modes for users who want to test themselves. I would say that only the "Normal" mode would award points in this situation.

Even though the idea is nice, I don't see too many uses for it. Yeah, having variations of a quiz would be cool, but I doubt anyone would really make them much.

maybe the more challenging difficulties give you a point multiplier, like 1.3x for hard and 1.5x for expert?

Nice idea. Usually, what I do is put a difficulty level under my quizzes description.

Would be cool (especially for, say, limited timer quizzes) but would be sort of complicated to implement

I like this idea! I think it would be best implemented into the quiz editor system where you can enable difficulty modes on the side bar, and that would let you tag questions in your question set with the difficulty you want them to appear

That's also a great idea.
