Eastern Colorado

Why are the town names in Eastern Colorado so charmless. Seibert, Arriba, Ordway, Swink, Manzanola. Stuff like that. Even Bill Bryson remarked on it (after reading what he said, I looked at a map and yes it was true). Eastern Colorado is also just boring outside of the town names.. at least the people in West Kansas have normal names like Good land and Hays or the zippy WaKeeney. I feel like Eastern Colorado is a boring and not that well known or interesting part of the country.
