Do you think Greenland is going to be part of the USA?

I estimated a 4% chance of the US buying Greenland in 2025.

More likely is Greenland forcing its way out of the Kingdom of Denmark and then signing a Pact of Free Association with the US similar to what Palau and Micronesia have.

Greenland would benefit greatly from being in the US orbit and Denmark apparently loses money on Greenland. I'm not sure why Denmark wants it except for national pride. And Greenlanders are lukewarm on the union as well.

Fun fact: The US has offered to buy Greenland many times in the past, going all the way back to 1867. And, of course, in 1917 the U.S. actually did purchase the U.S. Virgin Islands from Denmark.

Of course, a betting man would predict that Greenland stays part of Denmark because of this simple principle:

Nothing. Ever. Happens.

If (as one can reasonably infer), the end goal is increased US military access to Greenland, Trump's approach is a loud, ineffective approach. One suspects that that goal could have more effectively and less controversiallu been achieved by via in camera tripartite negotiations. Trump, contrary to his bluster, is an atrocious negotiator.
