I was going to go to Hong Kong when I was 8 to go to Disney but then some papers of my mum's expired and the entire trip got cancelled and I was crying
That sounds amazing. Buddy of mine’s ex is from china, and she was saying that the chinese food we have here is nothing like it is in China. Would love to go over and try the real deal someday
Aye; my first memory of it that comes to mind is of the guy on a bus in rural Guangxi - he comes on with his live hen, carrying it upside-down by the legs. This thing is swinging around and he sits down with it and off we go. There was a big stream of water flowing down the main corridor of the bus, sloshing around the whole floor.
The market in Yangshuo was some place. They had fresh meat out on the counters with no refrigeration and it was so humid and hot the sweat was dripping off you. Along the main walkway of the market there were big dead frogs lying in the gutter, and there was an open container, a sort of flat basket, packed full of dozens of live chicks, these fluffy little yellow chicks. When the COVID-19 thing came to light, I thought straight back to that market.
Hong Kong was awesome; there are black kites living there, and when you look up, the birds are circling between those huge skyscrapers. It looked pure apocalyptic.
Only to Hong Kong, in 2010. I loved it! It felt like the biggest city I had ever been to. Just rows and rows of skyscrapers on top of lots of hills. We caught ferries out to some of the islands nearby, which were like being in a different world - so laidback and relaxed compared to the bustling city.
Are you going there ?
If travel had a bright centre id be the furtherest away from it
Guangdong is known for fish. Lots of fish.
I like the Pineapple buns in Hong Kong.
There was that one extremely good noodle-shop in West Lake.
