If you don't know, it's a song contest initiated by Russia. In general, it often was positionted as alternative to Eurovision (but I just really want you don't think about it this way. I prefer to think about this like the kind of new event, because it's really intetesting without any compares or antagonism. On the contrary, it was very friendly and positive!). Participants were primely from Asia, Africa and Latin America, so it was very diverse. Totally, there were 23 countries (dsspite USA, as I expected, they gave up in the last second).
Full mumber list:
Belarus, Russia, Serbia from Europe;
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ubzekistan from Central Asia;
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Egypt from Middle East;
China, India and Vietnam from South, Southeast and East Asia;
Kenya, South Africa, Ethiopia and Madagascar from Sub-Saharan Africa;
Brazil, Venezuela, USA, Cuba and Colombia from the Americas.
I can't state which countries were good or bad... if you are interested, you can choose your favorites of that contest by your own. But I have my personal favorites — Colombia, Madagascar, Cuba, Vietnam. Very good performances were from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan (tbh, it's easier to say which performances I didn't like, it was Russia and Belarus, unfortunately, wrong choices). The Qatar participant was the adorable woman!
Okay, now there is a full official broadcast of this show.
Yes, the show turned out to be very good! for this, I suppose, we should thank the sponsors in the form of the UAE and Qatar, which allowed us to make the necessary scope (by the way, because of this, it has already been announced that the next year will be the host of Saudi Arabia). However, I, for my part, am fascinated by the participants from other countries, as well as the generally very friendly atmosphere of the competition. Really, I think, the participants made that evening!
Beside that, I also want to look at that like at the window to other countries cultures. This was just a firework of cultural diversity! I 100% never could watch anything like Ethiopian, Colombian or Vietnamese performances on TV, at least, Russian. So I glad to see interest to another cultures is awakening, or at least, trying to do it.
I will listen to music from anywhere around the world, so this will be a nice addition.
But I love your enthusiasm! Thank you for responding!
