Help with creating objects in Inkscape

Submitted by Huey on May 29, 2026
I am currently working on a map project for a quiz where I'm drawing all the objects by myself in Inkscape. It contains rivers and as I drew some of them and tested if the quiz and the answers work it created some trouble I don't know how to solve.

When I was drawing the lines I used the same tool I used for creating the shapes. I know, turning off the filling makes it appear like a line, but in the background the shape that is created between the beginning and end still exists, which was shown when I guessed the river in the preview of the quiz.

I did some research but that didn't help at all, so maybe one of you guys knows how I can create lines in Inkscape without them being considered as shapes when it comes to guessing or clicking them in JetPunk.

In the 'Path' section at the top, you have an option, 'Stroke to Path', do this for your rivers.

I hope this helps

Yeah, that did the trick, thanks a lot!

Funny, that even Google failed to tell me how I can do this...

Did you rely on the AI, don't do that, it sucks.

I'd recommend checking the Inkscape forum or subreddit for these kinds of issues, they tend to help.

I don't like using AI but in order to get quick results it happens that I do take a closer look in what it says.

Been messing around with it by searching some stuff and results actually change every time, which makes it look rather useless to me.

In my case, I may have used the wrong search terms as well. Switching from german to english ain't that easy in such specific things. (my Inkscape is in german but I like to use english to do research because there will be more/different results if I do so - I guess)
