Home remedies against flu

Submitted by azerifactory on November 15, 2025
Does anybody got good remedies against cold?

I know in some post-Soviet states, people drink hot tea with raspberry to reduce high fever, then sweat out it. Also drink tea with honey against cold throats.

Mint or chamomile tea, mineral water and raw bread if I feel nausea.

With cough, cold and runny nose, I simply endure until the symptoms fade away. Spoonful of olive oil, hot tea (mallow, mint, salvia) and a glass of water might ease the coarse throat, but I don't think there is an instant remedy for that.

Lots of rest, and lemon-ginger-dates-turmeric shots, help.

To add to this, mix a smidge of black pepper into the turmeric. It multiplies the anti-inflammation benefits tenfold, I can’t explain the science behind it but it works. When I was sick with it last year, green tea with honey, ginger, black pepper, and turmeric was the only thing keeping me somewhat functional. Get well soon!

My go to remedy depends on your age and religion.

Whisky

Hot water

Sugar or honey

A little lemon juice.

2 or 3 of them whilst wrapped up warm, then into bed with an extra blanket, I usually wake up cold free.

I think this, or a version of it, used to be known as a "Hot Toddy"

I had the flu recently. I hated it, I stayed in bed for nearly 2 weeks and once I finally got up, I could barely stand without falling down because my legs were so weak.

Go play some sports or do some light physical activity. Seems absurd but it will make you feel better eventually.
