How easy would you say getting a featured quiz is?

Submitted by AzedUp119 on April 26, 2026
I notice that getting a featured quiz is way harder than i thought. Even some really good quizzes out there, don't get features? So what do you need for a featured quiz?

Hard. I don't even have one. But featured word searches aren't that bad

The main reason being that a "good" word search is rarer to find because there are so few word searches being made. So because of that, if you make a "good" word search, then it's a high likelihood to be featured.

Subtypes we're missing a few of is:

- puzzles with picture clues

- puzzles with wordy clues (like cryptics)

- puzzles unusual but not niche themes

- decent mega puzzles

I made one with picture clues about WWII leaders a while ago

I saw it. I felt there was too many horizontal words and not enough intersections

It’d be nice if we could make clues in the wordlist section when it comes to making more complex puzzles.

Is that so you can import more easily?

In that case I could add an "import clues" into Step 3.

I think trying to link step 2 to clues gets a bit tricky because step 2 is normally uneditable once a word is placed, as well as the fact step 2 can have words which are never used as answers

Yeah, the issue is basically that. Like, if I had a bunch of clues for hints and want to make a grid, there’s no way to just have all the clues ready or import them. Then every time you want to remake the grid you’d lose every single hint. This is especially annoying for the cryptic one I made and probably for any crossword style clues puzzle.

Yeah that issue has been annoying for me too. Especially if you want to move things around in the grid but keep the same words, you have to do everything manual

I'll see what I can do

It's awfully difficult, but it's easy if you pull some tricks.

Next to impossible for me considering that I have over 600 quizzes with zero features. I think it is much easier to get a word search featured tho

I have three that were featured a few years ago, it was easier then because there weren't so many users. There are many more users nowadays with some really good quizzes, but because there are more users there is a smaller chance of getting a feature.

The best thing to do is to make good original quizzes with proper research, and quality sources, to the best of your abilities, and just publish and hope for the best.

It may take a couple of years for your quiz to be noticed, or it may not.

Don't get hung up on features and takes, just enjoy the site for what it is and if you get a feature, that's a bonus.

Not as hard as many think, some tips:

- Make the quiz relatively easy, harder, more specific quizzes are generally taken less

- Come up with a relatively original idea, quite hypocritical coming from someone who got all three of his features by piggybacking on other people's concepts, but it gives you the opportunity to create your own series (and get more features)

- Don't make quizzes purely for the feature, otherwise you'll probably give up after a few attempts. I make quite a bit of quizzes which I know will never be featured, yet are still fun to make, so I publish them anyways

Quizmaster likely is subscribed to your account, which is why you find it “easier”. There’s near to no chance he sees a quiz made by the average user

Some people say it's not so hard. That's true if you're Dimby, but otherwise it's pretty difficult. Another part of the equation is getting your quiz noticed, there are many great quizzes that have simply never been found.

The funny thing is that I've often stumbled on a quiz through random and said "this is great, I have to feature it".

And then... it's a Dimby quiz.

He gets features because he's good. Although I admit that a lot of quizmakers get overlooked when they are new.

Honestly, it generally comes down to what catches people's eyes. I got a couple features a few years ago, mostly due to pure chance as I'd stopped regularly making quizzes at that point. Complete surprise to me, that quizzes I made back in 2018 suddenly had a star next to them
