How has JP helped your Studies or Job?

I was curious as to whether JetPunkers have found the site useful to their daily lives, be it academic or in the work environment. For me, I have learnt a few things from the site.

1. Always be willing to accept criticism and mistakes where it is justified. I have learnt that responding quickly to mistakes has benefitted both my studies and my work.

2. Treat people with respect online. I have learnt through the well policed nature of the site, that you can't expect to be meaner online without facing consequences!

3. It has taught me valuable computer and research skills which I have been able to apply to my degree and my job. Admittedly, I haven't explored the SVG format as much as I have liked, but learning how to process data into ideas is a crucial skill that I have become much better at.

4. It has helped make me a creative ideas person! I have created almost 900 quizzes now: That is because I have learnt how to keep thinking of new ideas within the confines to which JP allows (through the quiz formats). This again has helped with all aspects of my life tbh.

In conclusion, you may find JP is just a hobby for you, and that's OK! But there are always valuable skills you can pick up from the site, both as a quizmaker and quiz taker.

In the past few months, after starting to upload quizzes, I went from typing 40 wpm to 75 wpm. I also learned how to use Inkscape.

I've not noticed much difference in my career, although truck driving doesn't need the skills that JetPunk creates.

I mainly take and make quizzes to keep my brain active in my advancing years. I have seen a great improvement in my typing abilities, and spelling, whilst compiling and researching information for blogs and quizzes.

When I look back to my earlier contributions, I cringe a little at their basic construction.

genuinely I think the biggest skill jetpunk has taught me is how to properly use excel that has been so massively helpful in my job (and my mom still calls me twice a week asking for help with it)

Do you encourage your quizzes only? More than happy to create quizzes for your students!

Same here, especially anything involving a map. One of the two main reasons why I like creating quizzes is because the person taking the quiz and I are both learning something new and interesting.

JetPunk highlighted to me how much I procrastinate. Especially with how fast I learned geography compared to my coursework. Now, I still procrastinate, but slightly less.

It hasnt really helped with school or anything, just once when it was the last day before the holidays and the english geography teacher put us in groups and gave sweets to whoever could place the most countries correctly

Unfortunately he was using seterra and not jetpunk

I still ended up winning which is cool

But it certainly helped me in my personal life, as i used to do nothing of my days, and now i do this

I passed my Social Studies exam without even studying, partially thanks to years and years of quizzing

It’s perhaps helped keep me calm and sane by providing me with a healthy fun addiction! 😅
