How Many Landlocked Countries Have You Been To?

Submitted by nichster on August 9, 2025
We seem to be more drawn to the sea when we go on holiday, so answers to this question might be quite interesting. For me, it is just one, I went to Prague earlier this year, making the Czech Republic the first landlocked country I have visited.

Interesting, this is a question I’ve never thought about. For me, it’s only the Vatican.

Andorra, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Vatican City, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Belarus, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

So that's 19 in total, although to be fair I was working when visiting most of these rather than being on holiday.

I'm not too sure if Belarus counts either, it was still part of the Soviet Union when I went there in 1989.

Moldova, Belarus, Eswatini and Lesotho are very unusual countries to visit. So you worked there too?
