How to create my own map?

I read over the CSS and SVG guides but I still don't know how to make my own custom maps, specifically how to turn them into SVGs so I can have specific parts light up. Does anyone know if there's a better guide on this?

If you want to just create a map, you don’t need css. Personally, I use Inkscape, and you can trace objects to create paths. To make the objects light up, go to the xml editor on Inkscape and find the path ids, and add those in the hint column of your quiz.
