How's the weather?

Submitted by MeMeMe333 on February 25, 2026
I just saw the weather temperature post, and noticed how the weather's so different in different places.

Yesterday in Melbourne, we had 3 giant thunderstorms (raining cats and dogs (or dog poo, in a Cantonese expression), with bouts of intense sunshine in between - it went from extremely cloudy and gloomy to sunny (as if nothing had happened) within minutes of the storm finishing.

*Sigh*, Melbourne weather.

We've had cold days in Summer, hot day's in winter, 53 seasons in a day (or 53 seasons in a second, according to Froggodoggo).

So, how do you guys experience the weather, living in other places?

Here in Normandy, France, it's winter so we usually have cold weather, like 0 to 10°C and a mix of rain and sunny days.

BUT this year temperatures are getting crazy! 18°C yesterday and about 20°C expected today! So we're experiencing the actual weather of May.

Just a quick look at the trees and you'll think Spring is already here.

Crazy.

Not to mention the so many weather alerts for storms, floodings and so France is getting for months.

Crazier.

Those storms sound bad. Stay safe!

And yeah, the weather's changed a lot in the past few years

The trees are looking like spring? I thought trees always went on a schedule to get back their leaves

A couple weeks ago we entered into a cycle of rain/sleet that cools things down into the 30s and then warming back up into a pleasant upper 50s. The yo-yo weather has been frustrating.

That one snow storm a month ago brought much of the US into the negatives! Minnesota got hit with like -30 temps. I got around -11 real feel for a day.

My state was spared from the storm, but we really could do with a little more snow...

Up until last weekend we‘ve actually had an unusual high amount of snow here in Northern Germany. But it‘s getting warmer now.

It's late winter back home and the weather's getting warm, but I have to endure the cold, dark, gloomy, ever-changing British weather...

On a more serious note, I am getting more sun now but it still rains a lot here. The UK gets a lot of rain in winter but much less of it in summer.

Sometimes it just feels like I'm constantly chasing the rain. When I'm back home for the summer, it starts to get more rain there.

Hopefully it'll be all over soon.

January was the wettest month on record in the UK, it spread into February too, today has been like a breath of fresh air, literally, and was a nice spring day. At least in Cheshire it was anyway.

Near Paris it was raining for so many weeks and everything was wet and muddy

So we escaped to the Pyrenees, and its very sunny here with very few clouds

The weather has gotten very warm in both places and were still in Winter

I was supposed to have clear weather where I live according to weather apps, it is raining!

One time I asked my Amazon Alexa "is it raining" while it was actively pouring down with a thunderstorm. She said "No rain is expected today" No rain expected today my butt Alexa!

In my area, all the snow has just melted from a snow storm in mid January. It is getting warmer tho with rain expected.

All of the snow from a snowstorm about a month ago melted… just for it all to get covered up again this past weekend.

Oh yeah, forgot New York got more snow with the recent system. I actually predicted a few days ago that the system would bring 'protests' to NYC because people were mad that snow was still there (I was right)

Mumbai is either hot and humid, or really hot and humid. We did have a cooler than usual winter though, with the La Niña phenomenon, but it’s warming up again.

Craving snow! 😅

typical winter. It's been mainly 50s and 60s, with a week in the 40s occasionally, and we had a few smaller cold spells in December, an then a big one at the end of January, but February has been very warm.

Despite we're in Summer, it's kind of cold rn. This morning I had a runny nose, and I had to drink a lemon tea :'(
