I made a picture quiz of London landmarks, only to find out that another user made a very similar quiz

It depends. Are the landmarks all the same? If it's a fundamentally different quiz just put a link to the original in yours. I don't think that premise is original enough to disallow sequels and such.

Also, it seems that quiz was abandoned and has bad type-ins. I think it's fair game, personally.

I do recommend that you make sure all photos are public domain, though. Use Wikimedia, not Tripadvisor.
