Is anybody going to see the Backrooms movie when it comes out?

If you haven’t heard, A24 (which is based) will be releasing a movie adaptation of Kane Parsons’ version of “The Backrooms” on May 29. Kane’s video series on YouTube is easily the best and most well-put together version of the Backrooms story, and he’s been given full creative control over the movie. I believe the star will be Chiwetel Ejiofor. With all this put together, this movie will probably be absolutely spectacular. Is anybody going to see it? If you are, I highly recommend watching through Kane’s full video series on his YouTube channel.

Edit: Kane is also A24’s youngest-ever director! They signed him for the Backrooms movie at just 17 years old!

I've been a big fan of the Backrooms for a while now, so yes. I wasn't in that swarm who became a fan because of Kane's stuff though

I always thought the concept was cool, and when I saw Kane's series I was absolutely blown away. I think he did a really good and consistent job with the lore, world-building, and character development. Plus the visuals are absolutely insane, it's mostly CGI rendered but looks fantastically realistic. He also did all the sound design himself, and the soundtracks and audio in the videos are so immersive that at times they contribute more to the atmosphere than the video itself!

What's especially crazy is he started the series when he was like 15 or 16 as a solo video project, and even the start of the series was masterfully done. The fact that he's put out such quality stuff basically by himself as a teenager is mind-blowing, and he's literally directing a feature-length film for a big studio at 20 years old. It's really impressive.

That said, im not a horror or a backrooms fan so I probably wont be checking this one out

Ah bummer. I would suggest checking out the video series (at least the first video) to see if maybe it spurs an interest, though!

Havent watched it yet, the only a24 i have seen so far is the mainstream ones like uncut gems and marty supreme. But i do need to dive deeper into the a24 filmography
