JetPunk in person Meetup?

Since we have a good community on the website, I was wondering if a meetup would be possible or at all practical. It would be nice to share advice, stories and interests with others. But of course, I understand everyone is located across the globe and meeting people IRL for the first time can seem daunting or worrying. However, let me know (roughly) where you are based and if you would be interested if I tried to organise such an idea.

Aside from location there is also the issue of age. I'd say a good 75% of the active community is under the age of 18.

I definitely get the sense that most of the active/high level folks on here are adults. I think having an in-person meetup would be difficult, but I wouldn't be surprised if the average JetPunk user was over 18.

High level and experienced, certainly older, but it really depends what you consider active. Most message board posters are probably 12-15, apart from toowise lol.

I'm not sure about that.

The interesting facts group was made up mostly of people who weren't stringing coherent thoughts together.

The DTC comments section is often brain rot.

I think even the general message board got purged(?)

It's unclear how much of the low-effort stuff was alt accounts or something. A bit of it may have been classmates.

It's tough to pin down a ratio of quantity/quality

Svalbard would be fairly far for everyone, so not too close for anyone. Plus no visas are needed, so no need to worry about getting a visa to enter.

I'm sure it would be incredibly cheap for us all to visit too.

I don't believe it would be possible to coordinate a proper like "JetPunk Con" but as for the question if I have met any users before, that I have. But only after I befriended them through the JetPunk Discord server where meeting them in person for the first time wasn't weird at all, it just felt like seeing friends.

Yeah I’ve seen a good half dozen people in person that I originally met through Jetpunk. Except for FlabberBapper. He drove past me on the interstate and wouldn’t pull over to say hi.
