Lets Not Be Too Wild

Submitted by Pontiac on April 1, 2026
As many people know, last year there was a crazy amount of April Fool's energy. This led to the April 4th Incident which took down the message board and, when it got back, banned ~50 users of the Message Board for a period of 6 months. Please be careful so the energy does not carry on for days to come and act responsible.

You may now go on with your April Fool's celebrations!

Last year people went wild on April Fool's. Users pretended to be others and stole names. It was all fun for a day. Then April 2nd came and it was still happening. Same for April 3rd. April 4th saw a new user appear and they stated it on the Message Board. Everyone went nuts. People claimed that the new user was either a bot or an alt. Quizmaster then took off the Message Board and then reinstated it on April 6th with 50 users banned for 6 months

AzaleaLeaf was the big one. Over 50 comments discussing whether or not she was a real user or an alt

Just to be clear, the incident clearly played a role in the suspension of the MB and the bans, but it was a broader problem (that was fortunately solved thanks to these decisions).

Yes. Sometimes we have to go through unfortunate situations to solve problems
