Just to clarify: #2-5 are also solid 10/10 films, super tough to rank them if not for the room being an all-time classic

I was on a plane recently and got the chance to watch a whole movie for once.

I saw Chariots of Fire and Singing in the Rain.

Both 10/10. Just so incredibly good.

Man, sadly the last movie I watched on a flight was Minions.

Well, now I'm going to have to spend all weekend searching for these films on various platforms, just to see if I agree with your rankings.

I'm joking of course, but thanks for the list anyway, great suggestions, I've only seen three on that list, 7, 8, and 16.

I can never remember the titles of most of the movies I've watched but my favourites are...

1. Shawshank Redemption

2. The Hunt for Red October

3. Green Mile

4. Casablanca

5. The Italian Job (Original 60's version)

6. Convoy

Good to see Brazil getting a mention; it can be uncomfortable to watch, but there's something about it that gets me.

It’s very kafkaesque to the point where at times it feels more like an art piece. It’s a very intelligent and well thought out film with good humor here and there, don’t get me wrong, but my main criticisms are a. the main character being completely pathetic and unlikable, and b. the film drudges on and on at times. I get that both of these play into the film’s narrative to a degree but they still take away from the overall score. Plus I feel like they missed potential with jane, but it potentially plays into the whole unreliable narrator thing when she starts falling for lowry towards the end.

Overall, out of 10, I’d say no lower than a six but no higher than a seven.

Uh... I watched 257 movies in 2025. So I will definitely not do that. "Only" 56 since the beginning of 2026. Could be doable but... too hard to choose.

Also, putting Twelve Angry Men and Princess Mononoke that low in the list given the other movies in the selection sounds kinda crazy to me. But well, we all have our preferences...
