Notifications for Comment Reply?

I have a suggestion/question for the great Quizmaster himself.

Could we have optional notifications for when people reply to your comment or add tags so we could get notifications when people mention you?

Because a lot of people say something in the comments and then never get to keep the conversation going because they don’t get a notification when someone replies.

Forgive me if this is an exhausted topic. Just curious!

I believe Quizmaster's usual response is that this is done in an attempt to avoid heated conflicts and arguments in the comments.

Yeah, I do agree with him on that. It would definitely be a problem if that were to happen. But to be fair that would (probably) never happen. Replies to other people's comments are usually not rude. Usually lol.

That's because no one (now that a certain user is no longer active) actually goes back and checks to see if people are arguing with them.

Also, Reddit started out nice. But look at it now.

I would love this, I usually write a comment wanting people to reply and I rediscover it later (usually months). I think it would also be nice if it were added that we can turn it off as well

Yeah, definitely able to turn it off.

Cons:

1) Site turns into Reddit

2) Zero additional revenue

3) Users get in flame wars and hate each other and, by extension, JetPunk

4) Increasing amount of animosity in the world

5) Huge amount of new work moderating comments
