One answer for multiple questions?

Submitted by TheodoreE45 on October 17, 2025
I've been trying to figure out how to tidy up my quizzes, and on quite a few of them (namely the Oscar Winning Films by Decade) I run into one movie being the answer to a lot of questions, which makes the '0/___' number much higher than it needs to be.

I'm wondering if anyone can explain what I need to be doing in order to make one answer fill in for multiple different spaces while only counting as one answer. I tried copying the way the 'Biggest Trading Partners by Country' quizzes arranged that, but the column limit prevents that from being a viable path.

I would like to make it so that, for example, in the quiz below, 'Titanic' would only count as one answer, not eleven. https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/207341/oscar-winning-films-of-the-1990s

Thank you!

Make it a text cell in manual mode and then click the “Hide Cell” button. Select the answer it corresponds with (Titanic), and it’ll appear when the user gets “Titanic”. That’s all I can think of. I’m not sure if it’ll be the correct colour when the quiz ends, though.

Or can you just reuse the same answer for the cell in manual mode?

Edit: yes, you can just go to manual mode and change any cell you want to “answer” and just select the answers you want. You can select the same answer twice. So yes, the same answer can appear on the quiz multiple times and just count as one answer in the stats.

This is what I use. It's simpler than doing it with "Hide Cell" and without any of the weird side effects of that method, like animations and colours not showing up properly.

There's even a way to do this automatically, if you use the "Map Grid Text to Answers" button in manual mode of the quiz editor
